Read the August edition of Living In Oxford Magazine online here

We’re in the midst of Summer now and we hope you all are enjoying the lovely weather.

Creation Theatre take the lead for this edition, as they build their very own Wonderland in Oxford’s beautiful University Parks, and let loose the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, and Queen of Hearts. This is the fourth time in their 21 year history that Creation has entered Wonderland but, despite a penchant for unusual venues, the first time they have set up camp inside a circus big top! Read more about Creation Theatre’s production of Alice In Wonderland on page 6.

A great way to spend a warm evening would be to visit The Pint Shop in Oxford for some artisanal beers, ales and gins, as well as delicious locally sourced grub in a beautiful and intimate setting – Our very own Senior Designer visited recently and you can read his shining review on page 48.

For those of you who might prefer something a little quieter, how about popping into Christ Church Picture Gallery? The internationally renowned drawings collection is regarded as one of the most important private collections of Old Master drawings in the country and includes work by Leonardo, Michelangelo, Dürer, Raphael and Rubens. See page 28 for their current and upcoming exhibitions.

And if you feel like shopping but works by the Old Masters are somewhat out of your price range, why not head down to the University of Oxford Shop to pick up a different kind of collectible. The shop is the University’s official retail store, specialising in a wide range of clothing and gifts featuring the University of Oxford crest. Read more on page 34.

And as always, you can find up to date event listings and musical concerts listed within these pages.

Happy reading!
